Boyertown Lady Bears Soccer

• Lady Bears continue to receive postseason honors.
  The postseason honors continue to roll in for the Boyertown girls soccer team. The Mercury Newspaper has named a record 10 Lady Bears to its annual All-Area team, as selected by Mercury girls soccer writer Austin Hertzog.   

  The All-Area team is a selection of the top players in the Pioneer Athletic Conference, as well as The Hill School and Perkiomen School. Methacton and Daniel Boone are also eligible for All-Area honors, but those schools play girls soccer in the spring. Lansdale Catholic players are not eligible for All-Area honors. 

  Seniors striker Erin Eddinger and fullback Erin Reichert, junior midfielder Rachel Gimber and freshman midfielder Raelynn Mikell were each named to the All-Area First Team, while seniors striker Lauren Brant, midfielder Karli Nester, fullback Mollie Erb and junior goalkeeper Alyson Reitmeyer were named to the Second Team.  Juniors midfielder/forward Lindsey Crits and midfielder Sara Gimber garnered Honorable Mention honors. • Lady Bears fall to the Monarchs in playoff action.
  The Lady Bears travelled to Gwynedd Mercy Academy on Wednesday afternoon for their first match in the District 1 playoff tournament. The Monarchs offense, fueled by Catholic Academies League MVP Erin Ryan, wasted no time putting points on board in their 5-2 win over the Lady Bears. Boyertown scoring was led by senior Lauren Brant who was credited with both goals for the Lady Bears. See related story in TheMercury.
  
  
• District One tournament seedings posted. Lady Bears seeded 9th!
  The Distict One committee met Sunday 10/22 to select and seed teams for the district tournament. Our Lady Bears are seeded ninth, which gets them a bye in the first round on Tuesday Oct 24th. They will face 8th seeded Gwynedd Mercy on Thursday October 26th at 3:00pm at Gwynedd. (Click here for map)

• Lady Bears lose to the Wildcats 2-0 in Championship Game.
  The Lady Bears faced Owen J Roberts for the third time this season hoping to dethrone the defending PAC-10 Champions. OJR got on the board first just 59 seconds into the opening period added the insurance goal with just under 10 minutes left in the game. The Lady Bears fought hard through the entire contest, they just couldn't find the back of the net. See related story in TheMercury.
  
  
• Lady Bears battle back against Crusaders to advance to PAC-10 Championship game.
  The Lady Bears met Lansdale Catholic on the turf at Owen J Roberts High School to see who would advance to the championship round of the PAC-10 playoffs. The Crusaders got on the board first when the ball popped out of the melee in the penalty area and was driven into the back of the net. The Lady Bears battled back and tied the contest just before halftime on a goal by Karli Nester. Briahna Renninger found the back of the net twice in the second half to seal a 3-1 Lady Bears victory and move them into the championship game against the Wildcats of OJR who defeated Upper Perk 1-0. That game will take place on Wednesday October 18th at 8:00pm. See related story in TheMercury.
  
  
• Lady Bears visit Perk Valley on Viking's Senior Night.
  The Lady Bears travelled to Perkiomen Valley to take on the Vikings in their final PAC-10 match up for the season. The Bears opened the scoring a goal by Raelynn Mikell only to have the Vikings tie the contest at 1 with 5 minutes left in regulation. The Lady Bears battled back to take the win 2-1 off a header by Jordan Heidelbaugh. Next up for the Lady Bears will be the Crusaders of Lansdale Catholic in the PAC-10 semi-finals on Saturday October 14th held at Owen J Roberts. The winner will then face the winner of OJR vs Upper Perk.
  
  
• Lady Bears honor seniors in game against Interboro.
  The Lady Bears honored 9 upper classman in a pregame ceremony at Memorial Stadium on Tuesday October 10th. This year's senior class consisted of Lauren Brant, Mollie Erb, Karli Nester, Erin Reicher, Erin Eddinger, Morgan Guest, Briahna Renninger, Katy Christy and Brittany Goddard. The Lady Bears defeated visiting Interboro 10 - 0 in the non-league contest. Next up for the Lady Bears will be the Vikings of Perk Valley on Thursday October 12th.
  
  
• Lady Bears defeat Harriton on the road.
  The Lady Bears traveled to Harriton High School on Monday October 10th for a non-league match up on the turf. The Lady Bears posted another win defeating their hosts 5-0. Next up for the Lady Bears will be Interboro at home on Tuesday October 11th. This will also be Senior Night for Lady Bears. JV game at 5:30, Varsity @ 7:00.
  
  
• Lady Bears post win against Spring Ford.
  The Lady Bears traveled to Spring Ford Friday afternoon to battle the Rams. The game saw limited scoring but the Lady Bears came away with a 2-0 win in the PAC-10 match up. Next up for the Lady Bears will be a non-league game against Harriton on Monday October 10th at 3:30pm. See the Schedule page for directions.
  
  
• OJR defeats Lady Bears in postponed game from Wednesday night.
  The Wildcats came back to Boyertown for the second day in a row to battle the Lady Bears after Wednesday's game was postponed due to lightening. The game was a defensive struggle in the first half with neither team conceding any goals. The second half proved to be more successful for OJR as they were able to find the back of the net twice to boost the Wildcats to a 2-0 win in the PAC-10 match up. • Lady Bears lose a tough one to Gwynedd Mercy.
  The Lady Bears played host to Gwynedd Mercy on Monday October 2nd and hung tough through all 80 minutes losing a heart-breaker 2-1. That puts the Lady Bears at 8-2-1 overall. Next up the Lady Bears will host OJR on Wednesday Oct 4th in Memorial Stadium. This is also Boyertown Soccer Club night for the girls. Coaches and female players that wear the BSC shirts will get in for FREE.
  
  
• Lady Bears battle past Avon Grove.
  The Lady Bears hosted Avon Grove on Saturday September 30th in a non-league match up. that proved tough for both teams. The Lady Bears emerged on top with a 4-3 victory. Next up will be Gwynedd Mercy on Monday, Oct 2nd.
  
  
• Lady Bears defeat St. Pius 8-0.
  The Lady Bears traveled to Pottsgrove to take on the Winged Lions of St. Pius on Wednesday and added another win to the record. Next up for the Lady Bears will be Avon Grove at Boyertown on Saturday September 30th at 3:00pm.
  
  
• Erin Eddinger scores hat trick to lead Lady Bears over Lansdale Catholic.
  After last week when the Lady Bears struggled to find the back of the net they wasted no time getting on the board in yesterdays match against the visiting Crusaders. Erin Eddinger lead the scoring with 3 goals, Lauren Brant added 2 and Raelynn Mikell added another to lead the Lady Bears past LC 6 - 0. See related story in the Mercury. Next up for the Lady Bears will be St. Pius on Wednesday Sept. 27th away.
  
  
• Lady Bears fight to 2-1 victory over host Phoenixville.
  On their third game in as many days the Lady Bears dug deep to notch another win in the PAC-10 contest. Erin Eddinger had a goal and an assist on the evening while Lauren Brant netted the winning goal in the 70th minute. The Lady Bears improved they're record to 4-1-1 in the PAC-10, 5-1-1 overall. Next up for the Lady Bears will be the Crusaders of Lansdale Catholic on Monday Sept 25th, 4:00pm at the BASH soccer fields.
  
  
• Lady Bears battle Upper Perk to 1-1 tie through double overtime.
  The Lady Bears traveled to Upper Perk to take on the Indians on Wednesday afternoon and what a battle it was. The game went through two 10 minute overtime periods before both teams had to settle for the tie. Meghan Fisher got the Lady Bears on the board first in the 20th minute, while Sammi Nevin from Upper Perk tied it up in the 59th minute. The Lady Bears will travel to Phoenixville to take on the Phantoms on Thursday evening Sept 21st. JV game at 5:30, Varsity at 7:00
  
  
• Lady Bears roll past Pottsgrove 10-0.
  The Lady Bears played host to the Pottsgrove Falconettes on Tuesday evening at Memorial Stadium. The Lady Bears shot early and often and found the back of the net with relative ease, tying their single game scoring record with 10 goals. Next up, the Lady Bears will travel to Upper Perk on Wednesday afternoon.
  
  
• Lady Bears push past Perk Valley 2-0.
  The Lady Bears played host to the Vikings of Perk Valley on Wednesday afternoon and added one to the win column on a goal by Sara Gimber 15 minutes in the first half on an assist from her sister Rachel. Erin Eddinger added on more goal in the closing seconds of the first half on an assist from Lindsey Crits. The Lady Bears improved their overall record to 3 - 1 and hope the streak will continue on Friday when the travel to Upper Perk to take on the Indians.
  
  
• Lady Bears bounce back to defeat Spring Ford 6-1.
  The Lady Bears hosted visiting Spring Ford Friday afternoon and took little time putting some points on the board. The Lady Bears rallied in the first half and took a five goal lead into halftime. Spring Ford scored their lone goal on a penalty kick in the second half. The Lady Bears answered with one more tally late in the second half. Next up for the Lady Bears will be Perk Valley on Wednesday Sept 13th.
  
  
• Lady Bears fall to Wildcats 1-0 on PK in double overtime.
  The Lady Bears traveled to OJR Wednesday evening to face the Wildcats in their first PAC-10 matchup. The Lady Bears battled the Wildcats through 80 minutes of regulation, a full 10 minute sudden death overtime and 5 minutes into the second overtime before a penalty kick was awarded to OJR. • Lady Bears open season with win over Unionville.
  The Lady Bears traveled to Avon Grove to meet up with the Indians in the Avon Grove tournament. If you remember is was the Indians who ended the Lady Bears district tournament last season with a 2-1 edge in penalty kicks. This time it was the Lady Bears on top with a 1-0 victory on a goal by Meghan Fisher.
