Boyertown Lady Bears Soccer

• Summer camp information now available.
  The high school girls soccer staff is excited to announce that the Midwest Soccer Academy is coming to Boyertown High School this summer to train all of our current high school girls soccer candidates from Aug. 3-7. There will be two sessions a day: one from 3-5 p.m. and the other from 6-8 p.m. All sessions will be conducted at the BASH soccer fields. C ost of the camp will be $170 per player, which includes a camp shirt and a soccer ball for each camper. Our booster club will provide drinks and fruit and snacks between sessions all week for all of the Lady Bears soccer players. Campers will also be asked to bring something to eat between sessions each day. A trainer will be on site all week in case of any injuries that may occur. • Raelynn Mikell named to girls PA All-State Team.
  Boyertown girls soccer team junior midfielder Raelynn Mikell became the Lady Bears' second-ever Pa. Soccer Coaches Association girls all-state soccer team selection recently in voting by Pioneer Athletic Conference coaches. Click here for the full Press Release.
  
  
• Lady Bears recognized for outstanding achievement.
  The coaching staff is pleased to announce that the Boyertown girls soccer team has, for the second straight year, been named a recipient of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America National Team Academic Award for Outstanding Excellence in the Classroom.  This award honors the 2007-08 Lady Bears varsity squad for maintaining a team grade-point average of 3.49, which is up from last year's award-winning GPA of 3.41.

• Boyertown loses to Gwynedd Mercy in first round district action.
  The Lady Bears hosted the Monarchs in a first round district playoff game last night at Memorial Stadium and for the second time in as many weeks found themselves on the losing end of a golden goal overtime period. Boyertown took an early lead off a shot by Raelynn Mikell that was deflected into the goal by a Monarchs defender and kept the pressure on. The Lady Bears would have 3 goals called back over the course of the game for various run ins with the Monarch keeper. This, along with some great saves on her part kept life in the Monarch's game. They ended the first half applying great pressure to the Lady Bears defense and resumed the second half with the same intensity. They got the tying goal shortly into the second half and both teams battled endlessly searching for the winning tally. The Monarchs eventually found it off a corner kick late in the first overtime period to advance to the next round in the district tournament.
  
  
• Lady Bear lose to Upper Perk in PAC-10 Final.
  The Lady Bears met a determined Indians team for the league championship last night but dropped the match 3-2 in overtime. The Lady Bears battled back from an early 1-0 deficit to take a 2-1 lead late into the second half but the Indians kept pressing and scored the tying goal with under two minutes remaining sending the match into sudden death overtime. The Indians kept the pressure on in OT and converted on a corner kick to notch the 3-2 victory.
  
  
• Boyertown advance to PAC-10 Final.
  The Lady Bears faced off against Phoenixville last night in a PAC-10 semi-final match up and rallied with four second half goals to defeat the Phantoms 4-1 and advance to Thursday's finals. The Phantoms Catie Hamilton scored first with 9:30 left in the first half on a free kick from just outside the penalty area and took the lead into halftime. The Lady Bears came out with vengeance in the second half as four different Boyertown players would find the back of the net. Erin Roberts opened Boyertown's scoring with a 30 yard blast at the 34:27 mark. Just four minutes later Hollie Garber headed home a Kelly Furman throw-in to take the lead. Emily Austerberry and Raelynn Mikell added insurance goals to make sure Boyertown would advance to the final game.
  
  The Lady Bears will face Upper Perk in the final as the Indians upset the Owen J Roberts Wildcats 3-2 in double overtime.
  
  
• Boyertown suffers first lose of the season.
  The Lady Bears traveled to Spring Ford last night for their final regular season game with hopes of finishing undefeated in the PAC-10. Unfortunately the Lady Rams had other ideas. Nikki Lynch and Holly Stevens each chipped in a goal to push Spring Ford to a 2-1 victory over Boyertown. Boyertown had already clinched the Liberty Division and will face the Frontier Division's number two seed Phoenixville Tuesday October 14th at 8:00pm at Owen J Roberts High School.
  
  In JV action, Leanne Kucharski’s double highlighted the Lady Bears’ 11th win of the season, a 2-0 victory over Spring-Ford. Kucharski’s first goal came off a cross into the box from Boyertown midfielder Katie Bradley in the 31st minute, while Gabby Genuario picked up her first point of the season when she sent her cleared corner kick back into the box, finding Kucharski in traffic, allowing the freshman striker to finish off the effort, slotting it past the Spring-Ford goalkeeper. Megan Janderchick picked up her 11th win and 10th clean sheet of the season, needing to make just three saves, including an acrobatic high-ball save late in the first half to keep it a 1-0 match.
  The Lady Bears JV team finishes the season at 11-4-1 (10-2-1 PAC-10).
  
  
• Boyertown continues winning ways .
  Boyertown junior Jordan Shade notched her first goal of the season in the first half to lock down the Lady Bears win early over visiting Methacton. Emily Austerberry and Hollie Garber would go on to add insurance goals in the second half to seal the 3-0 victory. Boyertown keeper Lizzie Kish recorded nine saves on the evening.
  
  In JV action, Erica Shade headed in the eventual game-winner off a Morgan Fell corner kick to give the Lady Bears some redemption in a 1-0 victory over PAC-10 rival Methacton.
  Methacton, which defeated Boyertown, 2-1, in the two team’s previous meeting, was held to just nine shots on goal on the day, with Lady Bears goalkeeper Megan Janderchick saving all nine to pick up her 10th win and ninth clean sheet of the season.
  
  Next up the Lady Bears will travel to Spring-Ford on Thursday Oct 9th at 7:00pm for their final regular season game.
  
  
• Lady Bears JV beats Pottstown Varsity 5-0.
  Devyn Heidelbaugh and Morgan Fell each had two goals, and Jackie Rutter added a lone tally of her own as the Boyertown JV team rolled to a 5-0 victory over the Pottstown varsity team in PAC-10 action.
  Audrey Randall added an assist in the win for the Lady Bears (7-1-1 PAC-10, 8-3-1 overall), while Megan Janderchick registered six saves in goal.
  
  
• Lady Bears defeat rival OJR 1-0.
  Boyertown's Raelynn Mikell scored the game winning goal in the 20th minute of the first half and that was all the Lady Bears needed to drop the visiting Wildcats and clinch the top seed for Division 1 in the PAC-10 playoffs. Boyertown keeper Lizzie Kish had fours saves on the night while OJR's Becky Weaver had five. The Lady Bears remain undefeated in the PAC-10 at 10-0 (12-2 overall) and will face Methacton at home on Tuesday Oct, 7th under the lights.
  
  In JV action, Boyertown couldn’t overcome an early Wildcat goal, falling to their Bucktown rivals, 1-0.
  Megan Janderchick tallied seven saves in a losing effort, just the fourth of the season for the Lady Bears (7-2-1 PAC-10, 8-4-1 overall).
  
  
• Lady Bears win big over visiting Tamaqua.
  Boyertown jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first half and rolled to a win over Tamaqua in a non-league match up, giving Coach Goddard his 101st career win. Hollie Garber, Jenna Criswell, and Raelynn Mikell each scored two goals for the Lady Bears, while Erin Roberts chipped in one. Sami Eddinger had two assists and Jenna Dubbs had one. Keeper Lizzie Kish recorded one save as the Bears improved to 11-2 overall.
  
  The Lady Bears next match will be against defending league champion Owen J Roberts at Memorial Stadium on Friday Oct 3rd. JV at 5:30, Varsity @ 7:15.
  
  
• Lady Bears back to winning ways.
  The Lady Bears bounced back after their loss to Villa Joe on Saturday to defeat Perk Valley 1-0 in the PAC-10 match up. Sammi Eddinger notched the game winner at 17:25 of the second half, with the assists going to Hollie Garber and Jenna Dubs, as Boyertown remained undefeated in the PAC-10 at 9-0 (10-2 overall). Perk Valley keeper Emily Armstrong and Lady Bears goalie Lizzie Kish each recorded 9 saves on the day.
  
  In JV action, Audrey Randall and Erica Shade each tallied for the Lady Bears in a 2-0 victory over the Vikings. Megan Janderchick needed to make just three saves to pick up the clean sheet victory in goal for Boyertown(8-1-1 PAC-10, 9-3-1 overall), which out shot Perkiomen Valley, 11-3.
  
  Next up for the Lady Bears will be Tamaqua on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00pm.
  
  
• Boyertown falls to Villa Joseph Marie 1-0 in non-league match up.
  Lindsey King scored midway through the second half to give the Jems the victory. The Lady Bears had some quality chances only to be denied by some spectacular saves by the Jems keeper. Boyertown Keeper Lizzie Kish posted 9 saves on the evening.
  
  In JV action, the Lady Bears' seven-game win streak came to an end against state power Villa Joseph Marie with a 1-0 loss. Boyertown goalkeeper Megan Janderchick kept her team in the game early with a pair of point-blank saves, and kept her team from going down two goals late with a brilliant sliding save in a 1-v-1 situation late in regular time.
  Boyertown actually had two chances two equalize in the second half after going down in the 40th minute off a corner kick, but could not find the back of the net.
  
  
• Boyertown slides past Phoenixville in the rain.
  Goals by Jordi Heidelbaugh and Emily Austerberry each led the Lady Bears to a PAC-10 win over the visiting Phantoms on Friday afternoon. Hollie Garber and Jenna Criswell each tallied an assist. Keeper Lizzie Kish posted two saves for Boyertown.
  
  Eric Shade struck three times and added an assist to lead the Boyertown JV team to a 7-0 victory over PAC-10 foe Phoenixville. Morgan Fell, Annie Bradley, Devyn Heidelbaugh and Kelly Smithson also added goals for the Lady Bears (6-1-1 PAC-10, 7-2-1 overall) in the victory, while goalkeeper Megan Janderchick was forced to make just one save en route to her sixth straight clean sheet.
  
• Lady Bears shut out Upper Perk.
  Erin Roberts, Sammi Eddinger, Emily Austerberry and Jenna Criswell each netted goals to lead Boyertown to a 4-0 victory over Pioneer Athletic Conference Division II leader Upper Perkiomen on Wednesday. Raelynn Mikell, Kelsey Smith and Lauren Walker each had assists for the Lady Bears 7-0 PAC-10 (8-1 overall), while goalkeeper Lizzie Kish needed to come up with just four saves to notch her fourth clean sheet of the season. Boyertown out shot the Indians, 10-4, and picked up eight corners to Upper Perkiomen's two.
  
  In JV action, Erica Shade's unassisted goal was all the Lady Bears would need to cruise to its fifth-straight shutout victory, a 1-0 victory over PAC-10 foe Upper Perkiomen.  Shade ran on to a through-ball in the middle third of the pitch, took on the Indian goalkeeper and slotted the ball underneath her for the game-winner.  The Lady Bears (5-1-1 PAC-10, 6-2-1 overall) finished the day with a 12-6 shots on goal advantage, with Boyertown goalkeeper Megan Janderchick needing to register just six saves to pick up her fifth clean sheet in as many games.
  
  Both teams return to action Friday, with a 4 p.m. home PAC-10 showdown with Division II rival Phoenixville.
  

• Boyertown cruises past visiting Pottsgrove.
  Raelynn Mikell's hat trick led the way as Boyertown beat the Falconettes 7 - 0 on the Monday to improve their PAC-10 record to 6-0 (7-1 overall). Emily Austerberry scored two goals and had an assist, while Hollie Garber and Sam Kochey each chipped in one goal. Garber had an assist as did Jordan Shade and Sami Eddinger. Boyertown keeper Lizzie Kish had 4 saves as the Lady Bears out shot Pottsgrove 23-4.
  
  In JV action, Cheyanne Dawson had two goals, Erica Shade and Morgan Fell each had one to lead the Boyertown JV team to a 5-0 victory over visiting Pottsgrove on Monday. Jackie Rutter added an insurance goal late in the game on a free kick from about 30 yards out to seal the victory, while Devyn Heidelbaugh and Audrey Randall each had one assist for the Lady Bears (5-2-1 overall, 4-1-1 PAC-10) in the victory.

  Megan Janderchick registered the clean sheet, her fourth of the season, needing to make just four saves on the day. Boyertown out shot the Lady Falcons, 23-4, and held a 4-2 advantage on corners.
  
  Next up the Lady Bears will be traveling to Upper Perk on Wednesday 9/24 for a 4:00pm tap.
  

• Lady Bears JV beats Pottstown Varsity 2-0.
  Devyn Heidelbaugh struck twice within the first 10 minutes of regular time, and the Boyertown JV team held the visiting Pottstown varsity team without a shot all day to roll to a 2-0 victory at home. Morgan Fell registered an assist in the win for the Lady Bears (4-2-1 overall, 3-1-1 PAC-10), while goalkeeper Megan Janderchick picked up her third straight clean sheet of the season.
  
  
• Lady Bears beat visiting St. Pius 6 -0.
  Hollie Garber and Emily Austerberry each scored two goals to push the Lady Bears past the Winged Lions in PAC-10 action. Sami Eddinger had three assists, Jenna Criswell had a goal and an assist and Raelynn Mikell finished the scoring for Boyertown. Boyertown held the advantage in shots 29 - 3.
  

• Lady Bears win non-league match up against Harriton Rams.
  Raelynn Mikell's two goals led the way as Boyertown beat the Rams 6 - 1 on the road. Sammie Eddinger and Jenna Criswell each added a goal and assist while Emily Austerberry and Hollie Garber each added a goal. Boyertown keeper Lizzie Kish had four saves on the day. The Lady Bears will host the Winged Lions of St. Pius in PAC-10 match up on Wednesday Sept 17th in Boyertown.
  
  In JV action, Devyn Heidelbaugh notched a hat trick and Leanne Kucharski struck twice to lead the Lady Bears to an 8-0 victory over the Rams. Caidy Deabler and Audrey Randall added solo tallies for the Boyertown, which further capitalized on an own goal on a ball deflected into the back of the net by the Harriton goalkeeper. Boyertown held Harriton without a shot on the day, out shooting their non-league opponents, 37-0. Megan Janderchick and Savannah Curcio combined for the clean sheet in goal.
  
  

• Lady Bears beat Spring Ford at home 4 - 2.
  Erin Roberts opened the scoring Thursday afternoon against the Rams but Holly Stevens soon tied it at 1. The Rams took a 2 -1 lead when a Nikki Lynch shot deflected off a Lady Bears defender for an own goal. Hollie Garber would tie the score at 2 on an assist by Jenna Dubs then Emily Austerberry booting in the winning goal off an assist by Kelly Furman. Raelynn Mikell got an assist as Sam Kochey added an insurance goal. The Lady Bears out shot the Rams 19 - 8 with Boyertown keeper Lizzie Kish making 6 saves and Rams goalie Allie Sasek collecting 4.
  
  The JV team added one to the win column beating the Rams 2 - 0 and out shooting their opponents 26 - 2. Goals for the Lady Bears were credited to Devyn Heidelbaugh and Caidy Deabler. Keeper Megan Janderchick had 2 saves on the day.
  
  Next up the Lady Bears will travel to Harriton at noon on Saturday for a non-league match up
  

• Mikell's last second goal pushes Lady Bears over Methacton 2 - 1.
  The Lady Bears traveled to Methacton Wednesday afternoon to take on the Warriors. The Warriors got on the board first when a pass back to Boyertown keeper Lizzie Kish bounced over her foot and trickled into the goal. The Lady Bears continued fighting and tied the score early in the second half on a goal by Hollie Garber assisted by Kelsey Smith. As time was running out Boyertown got a throw in from deep in the attacking end, Kelly Furman made a long toss right in front off the net that Raelynn Mikell eventually stuffed in the back of the net. Boyertown improved there record to 3-0 in the PAC-10 (3-1 overall) while Methacton slipped to 2-1 in the PAC-10 (2-1 overall). Lizzie Kish made 3 saves in net for the Lady Bears while Alyssa Ardman tallied 5 for the Warriors.
  
  In JV action, Katie Bradley's goal off a header set up by a Morgan Fell corner was not enough as Methacton beat the Boyertown JV team 2-1.
  
  Next up will be Spring Ford at home, Thursday Sept. 11th 4:00pm.
  

• Lady Bears stay unbeaten in PAC-10 with win over Owen J. Roberts.
  When the Lady Bears rolled into Bucktown to take on the Wildcats everyone knew it was going to be a war. The Lady Bears were able to survive two early shots by OJR Addie Markley which hit the crossbar and a post and go on to beat the Wildcats 2-1 on Friday night. The Lady Bears opened the scoring two minutes before halftime when freshman Hollie Garber finished off a Sammy Eddinger corner kick. OJR bounced back in the 55th minute when Kaitlin Benson cleaned up a rebound of Reese Rosato's corner kick. It didn't take long for the Lady Bears to regroup and again take the lead when Jenna Criswell banged home a cross from Raelynn Mikell in the 62nd minute for the game winner. Boyertown keeper Lizzie Kish had 14 saves on the night while OJR's Becky Weaver had 4. In JV action the Lady Bears came back from a 1-0 deficit late in the game to tie 1-1. The Lady Bears will next take on league newcomer Methacton on Tuesday Sept 9th at Methacton.
  

• Lady Bears post win over Perk Valley.
  The Lady Bears' opened their 2008 season with a PAC-10 victory over visiting Perkiomen Valley 2-0. Emily Austerberry scored the first goal of the season on a penalty kick in the first half and Jenna Criswell added the insurance goal later that same half. Boyertown keeper Lizzie Kish recorded 9 saves on the day and tallied her first clean sheet of the season. PV keeper Amie Cross made 7 saves. Next up for the Lady Bears will be Downingtown West on Tuesday Sept. 2nd.
  

• Lady Bears suffer first lose to Downingtown West.
  The Lady Bears' hosted the Whippets of Downingtown West Tuesday evening at Memorial Stadium in a non-league match up The Whippets opened the scoring early to take a 1-0 lead then gave up an own goal when a defender misplayed an ball from Emily Austerberry tying the game 1-1 going into the half. Downingtown came into the second half and again scored first only to have Austerberry tie it again at 2. Unfortunately Downingtown was able to come back down the field and put in the game winner to beat the Lady Bears 3-2. Boyertown keepers Lizzie Kish and Megan Janderchick combined for 23 saves on the day. In JV action the Lady Bears again fell to the Whippets by a score of 3-2. Goals were scored by Caity Daebler with the assist going to Erica Shade and Morgan Fell unassisted. Megan Janderchick collected 4 saves on the evening. Next up for the Lady Bears will be Owen J Roberts when they travel to Bucktown on Friday Sept. 5th. JV @ 5:30pm, Varsity @ 7:00pm.
